Our  Mission

 

Joliet Jewish Congregation is a dynamic egalitarian Synagogue. We come here to pray together, to study our sacred texts, to share our lifecycle events, and to find friendship and community. We welcome interfaith and non-traditional families of all backgrounds.

• Encouraging congregational participation in celebrating Shabbat, Jewish holidays and life cycle events

• Nurturing Jewish learning in an informal atmosphere

• Emphasizing and cherishing the growth and development of our children

• Valuing each member as an individual to foster spiritual growth

• Making our community a better place to live through social action projects

• Forming social interest groups which provide opportunities to make new friends, learn new skills (like playing Mah Jongg) and engage in service projects
